High Vibes Studios is a Black-owned creative hub on St. Claude Avenue — a yoga studio, an art studio, a writing & music room and an event space, all under one roof.

Our mission

Making art and taking care of yourself should not live on opposite sides of town.

High Vibes Studios exists to keep the whole creative life in one place. The same hands that hold a plank hold a paintbrush. The same breath that carries you through a long exhale carries a verse. We built a house where those things are allowed to happen on the same afternoon.

We are a Black-owned studio in New Orleans, and that is not a footnote — it is the room. Our teachers, our walls, our playlists and our prices are built for a community that has too often been priced out of wellness and out of gallery space at the same time.

Come to move. Come to make. Come to sit in the back and figure out which one you needed.

What we believe

Four things we say out loud, often

On art

Art is not decoration you buy once you have made it. It is the receipt of a life being paid attention to. We keep prices honest so the people in our neighborhood can own the work made in their neighborhood.

On community

A studio is only as good as who feels welcome to push the door. Saturdays are free. Beginners get the front row. Nobody has to explain their body before they are allowed to move it.

On creativity

Discipline looks like showing up before you are inspired. We give you the room, the light, the quiet and the deadline — the rest belongs to you.

On wellness

Healing is not a luxury product. It is breath, rest, and enough safety to feel what you have been carrying. We teach it that way, and we price it that way.

In our own words

“I wanted a place where the mat, the easel and the microphone were all in arm’s reach — and where none of it cost you your dignity to walk in.” Kim Kanor, Founder
